The Yokohama Floating Pneumatic Fender is a type of rubber fender with cylindrical shape and hemispherical heads at both ends, utilizing low air-pressure inside in providing soft and superior ship-berthing performance. Basic body construction of this fender consists of outer rubber layer which has high tensile and tear strength to withstand any weather condition and severe usage, approved synthetic-tyre-cord layer for reinforcement at ideal angles to hold internal pressure and distribute stress evenly, and inner rubber layer which seals air inside using a compound equivalent to that of the liner or tube of the Yokohama's own high quality-high performance automobile tyre.
